My First Real Cat Memorial Stone

This stone is not finished. It is currently undergoing a moist cure so it can last a really, really long time...After it has cured for a minimum of 28 days, it will be painted, either by myself or my very artistic daughter Kristin. The letters will also be gone over with a paint pen to make them look amazing. Then the lines in the cat will be grouted, still debating between a reddish color or a light buff colored grout. After it has been grouted it will be sealed with a clear concrete sealant. Come back in around three weeks and the final results will be posted. I can't wait to see it...

Dear impatient Deb, making stones that last is not a fast process. We like to take the time to fully cure the stone prior to painting or sealing. The Smokey stone was poured on March 13th, His full 28 day moist cure date is April 9th. At that time he will be done with his curing and move on to be finished. Our projected date at this time for The Smokey Stone to be completely finished, weather permitting is April 15th. Yes it takes awhile but we want our stones to last a really, really, long time...

I have been making leaf castings and hypertufa for the past few years. At first I gave them away as Christmas presents, to family and friends.
